David W. ‘Wick’ Hollenbank

Retired electrician enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing


- — David W. “Wick” Hollenbank of Hubbard, passed away at 9:09 a.m. Friday, April 25, 2014, in Bert Fish Medical Center in New Smyrna Beach, Fla. He was 80.

Mr. Hollenbank was born March 12, 1934, in Hubbard, a son of Harry Cyril and Elizabeth Mary Burns Hollenbank.

He was a 1952 graduate of Hubbard High School and attended Youngstown State University.

Mr. Hollenbank retired from LTV/WCI Steel as an electrician in 1996, with 32 years of service.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1955 to 1957 and achieving the rank of private first class.

David loved spending time with his family.

He enjoyed golf, as well as building and flying radio-controlled model planes. An outdoorsman, he also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He will be sadly missed by his family: his wife, the former Rosemary L. Hines, whom he married June 23, 1954; his sons, David V. Hollenbank, Hubbard; and Mark R. Hollenbank and his wife Kathleen, Girard, Ohio; his daughter, Gayle L. Jencen and her husband David, Cincinnati; six grandchildren, Todd, Erin, Marcus, Lauren, Rachel and Ashley; and a great-grandson, Austin.

He also leaves his sister Judith K. Miller and her husband Eugene, Alexandria, Va.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Cyril L. “Windy” Hollenbank.

Service: Funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

Interment: Laid to rest at Brookfield Township Cemetery with full military honors provided by Trumbull County American Legion Honor Guard.
