St. Vitus Church member had son in Farrell


- — Ann M. DiCarlo of New Castle passed away the evening of May 10, 2014, at Golden Hill Nursing Home. She was 89.

Born June 10, 1924, in Brent, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Angeline Bucci Rossi.

Surviving her at home is her beloved husband of 67 years, Anthony “Tony” DiCarlo, whom she married Nov. 16, 1946.

In earlier years, Ann worked at the former Shenango Pottery in New Castle and later became a loving housewife.

She was a member of St. Vitus Church and its ladies guild. She also belonged to the Ladies of Dukes.

She loved ceramics and enjoyed cooking and flower gardening.

Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband, Ann is survived by: her children, Judy Temperato and husband Gary, New Castle; Randy DiCarlo Sr. and his wife Debbie, Farrell; and Anthony DiCarlo and his wife Linda, New Castle; grandchildren, Gary Temperato, Ryan Temperato, Tiffany Trover, and Randy DiCarlo Jr.; and great-grandchildren, Gianna Temperato, Tristan Temperato, Kendall Temperato and Brandon Trover.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Lucy Calgelia, Mary Danish, Louise Spinelli, and Edith Morella; and brothers, John and Joseph Rossi.

Funeral: Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Wednesday (5-14-14) St. Vitus Church, officiated by the Rev. Frank Almade. A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. to the church.

Entombment: Parkside Mausoleum, New Castle.
