Nenya Buttles Warrick

New Wilmington-area woman was homemaker


- — Nenya Buttles Warrick of Mercer-New Wilmington Road, Wilmington Township (New Wilmington), passed away at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday March 4, 2014, in The Overlook nursing home, New Wilmington. She was 74.

Mrs. Warrick was born Dec. 9, 1939, in Rutland (County), Vt., to Willard Hiram Buttles and Reta Howe Buttles.

A 1957 graduate of North Syracuse Central High School, she was a 1961 alumna of the University of Rochester and received additional education at Westminster College, New Wilmington.

She was a member of Maple Grove Mennonite Church, Wilmington Township, Lawrence County, and Agora Christian Fellowship, Columbus, Ohio.

A homemaker, Mrs. Warrick especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Her husband, Percy Warrick Jr., whom she married Aug. 15, 1961, passed away Oct. 30, 1999.

Surviving are a daughter, Deborah Warrick Bennett and her husband Eric, Gaithersburg, Md.; a son, Timothy Warrick and his wife Christina, New Wilmington; and five grandchildren, David and Ruth Bennett; and Nathanael, Rebecca and Isaiah Warrick.

Calling hours: 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday (3-9-14) in SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 310 W. Neshannock Ave., New Wilmington.

Service: Funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday (3-10-14) in Maple Grove Mennonite Church, 3112 state Route 956, New Castle, with the Rev. Cheryl Vanatsky, pastor, officiating.

Interment: Maple Grove Mennonite Church Cemetery, Wilmington Township, Lawrence County.
