Margaret ‘Marg’ L. McGinnis

Grove City woman was school district retiree


- — Funeral service will be Monday for Margaret “Marg” L.  McGinnis, Grove City, who died at 9:22 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township. She was 89.

Marg was born Dec. 29, 1924, in Falls Creek, Pa., a daughter of Warren P. and M. Eva Rideout McLaughlin.

She married Wayne E. McGinnis on June 8, 1946; he passed away Oct. 11, 1997.

Marg was employed by Grove City Area School District,  retiring as secretary to the principal at the high school. She was employed by the district for more than 20 years.

Marg was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Grove City.

She enjoyed sports, flowers and gardening, and was an avid reader.

Survivors include: one daughter, Dawn L. Say, Butler; two grandchildren, Jennifer Walters and her husband George, Slippery Rock; and Matthew Say, Butler; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Marg was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Eleanor Feichtinger; and two brothers, John Kenneth and Milford “Buck” McLaughlin.

Calling hours: 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday (3-16-14) in CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME Inc., 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.

Service: Funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Monday (3-17-14) in the funeral home, with the Rev. Willard Morse, visitation pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, Grove City, officiating.

Burial: Prairie Cemetery, Harrisville.
