A funeral service will be held Monday for Betty J. Weaver Gaiser of Transfer. She passed away at 2:56 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2014, in her home. She was 93.
Mrs. Gaiser was born Jan. 21, 1921, in Sharon to Charles E. and Freda I. Saul Headings.
She attended Sharon High School.
A homemaker, she was a member of Zion’s United Church of Christ, Transfer.
Betty belonged to Ford City (Pa.) Sportsman’s Club and the White Oaks Shooting Club of Greenville. She enjoyed fishing and boating on Shenango River Lake and Pymatuning Lake and shooting guns, especially trap shooting.
Her husband, George Kenneth Gaiser, whom she married Oct. 26, 1997, survives at home.
Also surviving are: two stepdaughters, Kathy J. Kopac and Alana Hockenberry, both Transfer; a stepson, Kirk K. Gaiser and his wife Kammie, Boggsville, Pa.; a brother, Raymond Headings and his wife Ruth, Sharon; stepgrandchildren, Jason Gaiser, Katlin Andrasko, Joseph Kopac and James Kopac; stepgreat-grandchildren, Abigal Kopac and Rockford Kopac; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Doyle A. Weaver, who passed away Jan. 5, 1996; a sister, Agnes Ynostroza; and two brothers, Charles and Robert Headings.
