A funeral service will be held Friday for Tammy Lynn Boyce, Mill Road, Delaware Township (Fredonia). She passed away unexpectedly Monday, March 31, 2014, in her residence of natural causes. She was 47.
Ms. Boyce was born Oct. 24, 1966, in Greenville, a daughter of Ronald L. and Bonnie J. Williams McEwen.
She was a 1985 graduate of Reynolds High School and Mercer County Career Center, where she studied cosmetology and had subsequently received her professional license.
She had been employed by Country Fair, J.C. Penney, and as a licensed cosmetologist for the former Cheena’s in Sharon. She then became the office manager of Shelhamer Energy Conservation Co., Mercer.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post 919, Fairview Township.
Tammy enjoyed raising and riding horses. Her greatest moments were shared with her grandchildren. She also was an artist who enjoyed and appreciated artwork.
She is survived by: her mother, Bonnie J. Sweitzer, Fredonia; her maternal grandparents, Charles N. and Helen L. Williams, Fredonia; a son, Joshua McEwen and his fiancée Jodee Baker, Clarks Mills; a daughter, Tara Boyce and her fiancé Kenneth Kopp, Indiana; a sister, Traci McEwen, Hermitage; a brother, Bob McEwen and his wife Joan, Fredonia; her former husband, James Boyce, Fredonia; and two very special grandchildren, Kacie and Parker Kopp, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her father; her stepfather, Glenn F. Sweitzer; and her paternal grandparents, Virgil and Rubie McEwen.
Memorial tributes may be made to the family through the funeral home.
