Norma Mary Scharville

Notre Dame member was apt. assistant manager

---- — Norma Mary Scharville of 350 Rexford Drive, Hermitage, passed away peacefully at 10:30 a.m. Thursday (8-22-13) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System with family at her side. She was 89.

Mrs. Scharville was born Feb. 8, 1924, in Farrell, a daughter of James and Catherine Schirripa DeMaria.

A lifelong area resident, she was a member of Sharon High School’s class of 1942.

Prior to her marriage, Norma was employed at the former Hamilton Drug Store, Farrell; Sharon Medical Clinic; and what is now UPMC Horizon, Farrell, where she worked in the admissions office. Norma’s last job was with Penn Grove Apartments in Hermitage, where she was the assistant manager.

She was a wonderful homemaker who enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. Norma also loved to dance and sing; she especially enjoyed opera music.

In years past, she belonged to Hickory Women’s Club and its drama club.

She was a member of Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage, and its Ave Maria Society.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she will be remembered for her infectious smile; she will be sadly missed.

She is survived by: her husband, Samuel Scharville Jr., whom she married Jan. 28, 1961; two sons, Gary Lee Scharville and his wife Nancy; and Raymond Trevor Scharville, all Hermitage; two grandchildren, Tricia Ann Scharville, Hubbard; and Amy Lee Scharville Park and her husband David, Las Vegas; and three great-grandchildren, Ethan Park and twins, Sydney Leigh and Taylor Nicole Park.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Victoria Mercurio, Edith Tirotta and Marg Noviello; and five brothers, Rocco, Albert, Henry, Earl and James.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
