Jones, M.D. Dr. Jones, 210 Hempfield Ave., Hempfield Township, peacefully passed away Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, in Trumbull Memorial Hospital, Warren, Ohio, after a short battle with cancer. He was 79.

He has now rejoined his beloved wife, Mary Rose Keane, who preceded him in death on Oct. 17, 2007. Tom married Mary Rose, of Harrisburg, on July 9, 1960.

Tom was born Sept. 2, 1934, a son of Harry Bradford Jones, M.D., and Marguerite Augusta Benjamin Jones in New Sheffield, Pa. He graduated from Aliquippa High School in 1954; Geneva College, Beaver Falls,in 1952; and the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 1959. He completed his internship in internal medicine at Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, from 1959-1960.

Having been drafted to service in the military services, Tom then served as a captain in the medical corps as commander of the battle group aid station, 7th Infantry Division and 127th Signal Battalion, Korea. After 15 months overseas, he was transferred to Valley Forge General Hospital, Phoenix-ville, Pa., where he served nine month as the admitting officer.

Following his military service, Tom established a medical practice in New Brighton-Beaver Falls. He was remembered fondly for his unending care to the patients of that area.

For many reasons, he decided to return to Mercy Hospital and started a radiology residency in 1969. From 1969 until completion of his residency in 1972, he worked in the emergency room of United Hospital, Beaver Falls.

Tom and Mary then moved their growing family to Greenville, where he became a radiologist at Greenville Hospital.

In addition to holding many positions of importance through his medical staff appointment at Green-ville Hospital, Tom was exceptionally active in St. Michael’s Church, Green-ville. There he was an extraordinary minister, member of the building committee, spiritual formation committee, pastoral council and the Cursillo Movement. He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus. In January 2007 he received the parish appreciation award and he was awarded the Erie Diocese Bishop’s Commendation for Service in August 2011.

Tom was a longtime member of the former Greenville Country Club. His hobbies included golfing, gardening, reading, carpentry and building doll houses.

Tom will be remembered for his unending devotion to his family, his profession, his patients, and his faith. His service to all was never questioned and his legacy will live on.

Tom is survived by: four daughters, Mary Elizabeth Cano and her husband Frank and Maureen Rose Jones, all Greenville; Karen Marie Hamm and her husband James, New Castle; and Molly Susan Copple and her husband Brian, Gibsonia; seven sons, Thomas Benjamin Jones Jr., M.D., and his wife Darlene, Warren, Ohio; Daniel Keane Jones, Ph.D., and his wife Tina, Utica, N.Y; Carl Richard Jones, Gibsonia; David William Jones and his wife Deb, Knox, Pa.; Kenneth Earl Jones, M.D., and his wife Michele, and Michael Anthony Jones, M.D., and his wife Erica, all Warren, Ohio; and Christopher Robert Jones and his wife Karen, Wexford; and 32 grandchildren.
