- — Mr. Savchuk was born June 1, 1928, in Greenville to Leonti and Anna M. Krizan Savchuk.

Ted was a 1946 graduate of Greenville High School where he lettered in wrestling and finished third in the state.

He served as a sergeant in the Army during World War II. After his honorable discharge, he got married and pursued higher education at Thiel College, Greenville, where he graduated in 1951 with a degree in economics.
