Sharon man born in W.Va. worked at tube company


- — Willie Kent Sr. of Sharon passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, November 27, 2013, in his residence. He was 71.

Willie was born Sept. 14, 1942 in Fairmont, W.Va., a son of the late Ashby Kent Sr. and Martha Rebecca Kent.

He attended Dunbar School, Fairmont.

Mr. Kent worked for Sharon Tube Co. and retired as a crane operator.

He was formally married to Ida Mae Kent.

He leaves behind two daughters, Virginia Kent, Warren, Ohio; and Erica Kent, Columbus, Ohio; two sons, Willie Kent Jr., Cincinnati; and Alphonso Kent, Hubbard; two sisters, Mary Jo Hopkins, Pittsburgh; and Carol Guin, Fairmont; five brothers, Eugene Kent, Cleveland; Ronald Kent, Pittsburgh; Gary Wayne Kent, Fairmont; Alphonso Kent, Columbia, S.C.; and Kenneth Kent, Denver; six grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Willie was preceded in death by three brothers, Bernard Kent, Ashby Leroy Kent Jr. and Authur Lee Kent; and a sister, Maxine Kent.
