---- — Pauline L. Boles Briggs of 1279 S. Perry Highway, Mercer (Springfield Township), passed away at 4 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, in Avalon Springs, Coolspring Township. She was 93.

Born March 2, 1920, in Hopewell, Washington County, to Henry Ross Boles and Delia V. Berringer Boles.

She retired from Mercer County Home, where she was a licensed practical nurse for 20 years.

As a member of Mercer Church of the Nazarene, Pauline’s church was first and foremost; it was very important to her because she helped build it.

She enjoyed gardening, flowers and vegetables; birds and wildlife; and the beauty of every day. Pauline never knew a stranger. She had many friends, nieces and nephews.

Her first husband, Woodrow W. Lehman, whom she married April 6, 1937, died in 1942 while serving in the Navy. She then married Paul M. “Peppy” Briggs on Nov. 3, 1962, who died in 1986.

She is survived by a son, Gary Ross Lehman, Southington, Ohio; a sister, Edith Senich, Venice, Fla.; a grandson, Ross Lehman, Cortland; three great-grandchildren, Timothy, Dustin and Crystal, who is serving in the Air Force; and six great-great-grandchildren, Ross J., Woody, Alex, Isabel, Ryan and Christopher.

Pauline also leaves special friends, Mary and Lou Conlan; and family and her caretaker, Sheri Bean.

Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Donald T., Ross E., DeWayne F. and Jack Boles; three sisters, Sally Ruth Lehman, Bernice Boles and Beulah Kather; a granddaughter, Lorraine Lehman Parker; a great-granddaughter, Misty Star Moyer; and a daughter-in-law, Mary K. The family wishes to thank special care and hospice at Avalon Springs, Coolspring Township.
