Jackson Twp. woman liked to sew, quilt, line dance

---- — Anna Marie Jacko, Jackson Township, formerly of Pittsburgh, passed away at 11:20 p.m. Sunday (10-6-13) in her home after brief illness. She was 77.

Born Jan. 20, 1936, in Pittsburgh, Mrs. Jacko was a daughter of Urbano and Sophia Paradiso Corso.

She was a graduate of Oliver High School, Pittsburgh.

Of the Catholic faith and a member of St. Joseph’s Church of Coraopolis, she attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Mercer.

Anna loved to sew and enjoyed quilting and line dancing. Most of all, she was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be sadly missed.

Her husband of more than 30 years, Ernest Jacko, preceded her in death February 2012.

Survivors include: three daughters, Karen M. Clipper and her husband Dave, Pennsylvania Furnace, Pa.; Gina T. Hicks and her husband Jim, Mercer; and Nancy A. Cassandro and her husband Jason Umemoto, Kailua, Hawaii; a son, Thomas G. Cassandro, Jackson Center; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Urban Corso, Bellevue, Pa.; and Clement Corso, Pittsburgh.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Joseph Corso.

Service: Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Friday (10-11-13) in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 100 Penn Ave., Mercer, with the Rev. James Kennelley, pastor, as celebrant.
