LPN loved motherhood most of all in life

— Shanon Marie Bower, Masury, entered eternal peace at 1:50 p.m. Saturday (10-12-13) at home while embraced by the love of her family following a lengthy illness. She was 46.

Shanon was born March 3, 1967, in Geneva, Ohio, a daughter of Calvin R. and Ella V. (Phillips) Carlton.

She graduated in 1985 from Buena High School, Buena Ventura, Calif., and furthered her education by graduating in 2002 from Choffin School of Practical Nursing, Youngstown, as a licensed practical nurse.

In 1987, she married Paul F. Bower, and together they started a family.

She loved caring for her family and looking after everyone. She found employment working with Orange Village Care Center, Masury, and most recently for the Greenbrier Rehabilitation Hospital, Boardman.

Her activities included painting and drawing; baking and decorating cakes; off-road mudding with her purple and pink Ford Bronco; and participating in Relay for Life “Hopes Heros” as well as supporting her Breast Cancer Support Group. But most of all, she loved being a mother.

Survivors include: her husband, Paul; her sons, Nicholas Ryan Carlton and his wife Eve, Omaha, Neb., and Jason P. Bower, Bethesda, Md.; her parents, of Masury; her brother, Christian Carlton and his wife Veronica, Phoenix, Ariz.; and their children, Bryan and Megan; and several extended family as well.

Calling hours: A time of gathering will be held to honor Shanon’s life from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday (10-15-13) in BRICELAND FUNERAL SERVICE, 379 state Route 7 S.E., Brookfield (330-509-3135),

Service: A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
