Helen M. Baun, Jackson Township, passed away peacefully at 10:25 a.m. Saturday (10-19-13) in Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township, after a period of failing health. She was 91.
Born Jan. 1, 1922, in Sandy Lake Township, she was a daughter of Lee A. and Phoebe C. Armstrong Wareham.
She was a 1940 graduate of the former Sandy Lake High School.
In her earlier years she worked at the former Strausser’s General Store of Jackson Center for 10 years and then for Montgomery’s Hardware of Jackson Center for 25 years, retiring in 1982.
Mrs. Baun was a member of Vincent United Methodist Church, Jackson Center, and was a member of the Ladies Aid Society and was a Sunday school teacher for many years.
She was a member of Mercer Chapter 180, Order of Eastern Star.
Helen was always known as a hard worker, enjoyed quilting and canning, and loved taking care of her family.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Her husband Lloyd W. Baun, whom she married Sept. 28, 1940, preceded her in death Jan. 22, 1984.
She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Goodrum and her husband Bob, Peachtree City, Ga.; and Shirley Baun, Largo, Fla.; two sons, James D. Baun, and Richard L. Baun and his wife Linda, all Jackson Center, 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren; a sister, Lucille Lucas; and a brother, Merle Wareham and his wife Sarah, all Sandy Lake; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Baun, Hermitage; and a brother-in-law, the Rev. Glenn M. Baun, Nashville, Tenn.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Baun-Sefton; a sister, Florence Taylor; and three brothers, Ralph, Floyd and Harold Wareham.

Service: Funeral and committal service at 11 a.m. Friday (10-25-13) in the funeral home with the Rev. Susan M. Hoover, pastor, Methodists United In Faith, officiating.
Interment: Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Jackson Township.
