Edward ‘Ed’ H. Musial

Sharon Steel retiree loved traveling, bowling, hunting


---- — Edward “Ed” H. Musial of Mercer, passed away Tuesday evening, Aug. 27, 2013, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. He was 83.

Mr. Musial was born Nov. 4, 1929, in Farrell, a son of Adalbert and Anna Wajtal Musial.

He was a lifelong area resident and a 1948 graduate of Farrell High School.

Ed served with the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict and was stationed in Alaska.

He was employed as an electrician at the former Sharon Steel Corp.’s Farrell plant for more than 35 years, retiring in the late 1980s.

Edward was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka-Holy Trinity Church, Sharon.

He loved traveling with his wife, particularly to Las Vegas, where they spent many summers. He also enjoyed bowling, hunting and playing bingo.

Surviving are his loving family members who will miss him dearly: his wife of 61 years, the former Jane Mueller, whom he married May 24, 1952; a son, Kenneth Musial and his wife Mary Ann, Jefferson Township; a daughter, Barbara Charsar, South Shenango Township; and two grandchildren, whom he loved dearly, Ryan and Brittany Charsar.

He also leaves two sisters, Stella Fornadley, North Carolina, and Blanche Roman, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Ed was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Walter; and six sisters, Genevieve, Marie, Antoinette, Frances, Elizabeth and Annie.
