Former St. Ann member was born in Slovakia

- — She was a graduate of Campbell (Ohio) Memorial High School class of 1942.

For a while, Mary worked in Mahoning County Courthouse as a clerk.

She was a member of the former St. Ann Church, now Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann Church, both Farrell.

She was a fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates.

She was married on June 23, 1956, to Michael A. Murcko, who died March 12, 2009.

Mary leaves four sons, James and his wife Shellee, Napoleon, Ohio; Dennis and his wife Caroline, Beaver Falls; Robert and his wife Janet, Pittsburgh; and Thomas, Mercer; and a brother, Thomas Harvischak and his wife Sonja, Campbell.

Also surviving are two sisters, Pauline and her husband Frank Fesz, Campbell; and Helen Colaluca, Struthers, Ohio; and two granddaughters, Katherine Kayser and her husband Dan; and Anna Murcko.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Anna and Katherine Harvischak.

Service: Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Saturday (11-23-13) in Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann Church, 601 Roemer Blvd., Farrell, with the Rev. Monsignor Charles S. Murcko, Mary’s brother-in-law, as celebrant, and the Rev. Donald E. Berdis, pastor, as concelebrant.

Burial: St. Ann’s Cemetery, Hermitage.
