David Matthew ‘Matt’ Small

’99 Sharpsville grad, sports fan played fantasy football

- — Mr. Small was born Jan. 9, 1981, in Sharon to David A. and Deborah L. Costar Small.

He was a 1999 graduate of Sharpsville High School.

In 2003, Mr. Small served as a seaman apprentice in the Navy.

Matt was affiliated with St. Michael’s Church in Greenville and St. Bartholomew’s Church in Sharpsville.

He loved fantasy football and was an avid Oakland Raiders, New York Knicks and New York Yankees fan.

David worshipped his son and stepson.

Matt is survived by his wife, Alana Small; his son, Andrew Small, Transfer; his stepson, Thomas Rainey, Transfer; his parents, David A. and Deborah L. Small, both Sharpsville; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Cornell and Betty Costar; and his paternal grandparents, Arthur and Virginia Small.

Service: Funeral service at 11 a.m. Tuesday (11-26-13) in the funeral home with Pastor Gary Small, Matt’s uncle, of Atlantic Avenue United Brethren Church, Franklin, officiating.

Interment: Will follow the service at St. Elizabeth’s Cemetery, Farrell.
