Margery L. Anderson, Main Street, Fredonia, passed away peacefully Friday afternoon (5-30-14), at home after a short illness. She was 91.
Margery was born March 31, 1923, at home to Albert and Irene Koonce Willaman, Transfer.
She was a graduate of Fredonia-Delaware High School.
She married Clifford L. “Bud” Anderson on Nov. 15 1941. He preceded her in death on April 4, 2010.
Mrs. Anderson grew up on the family farm on Rutledge Road and milked cows better than any of her siblings. She and her husband moved from Hadley in 1960 to Fredonia, where they ran the corner store until retiring in 1988.
Marge was a leader in 4H and was a member of White Shrine Lodge 53 where she played piano for many years.
She loved to sew and made many wedding dresses for family over the years as well as lovely clothes for herself, children and grandchildren. She was also an avid quilter and made countless blankets with love over the decades before she had to give up the hobby.
Mrs. Anderson was a member of Fredonia Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir and played piano and was a member of the quilt circle.
Marge rode horses but never learned to ride a bike. She loved chocolate and could eat 10 pounds a week – and sometimes did. She loved snowmobiling, too, as does her family.
She is survived by: four children, James Anderson and his wife Caroll, cq Fredonia; Kathy Jones at home; Clyde Anderson and his wife Bonnie, Pymatuning Township; and Cynthia Valimont and her husband Keith, Fredonia; nine grandchildren, Cheryl Mostoller and her husband Keith, Fredonia; Cham Anderson, Jackson Center; Rich Rodemoyer and his wife Jena, Mercer; Casey Rodemoyer and his wife Nicole, Vienna, Ohio; Courtney Saylor and her husband Jeremy, Sharon; Stacy LoSchiavo and her husband Ian, Leesburg, Va.; Becky Ritzert and her husband Kevin, Butler; Garrett Valimont and his wife Jen, Fredonia; Tyler Valimont and his wife Melissa, Fredonia; 12 great-grandchildren, Kara, Justin, Alexis, Haley, Hannah, McKenna, Anderson, Jennifer, Helana, Jacoby, Tyler and Mia; and four siblings, Bob Willaman, Elsie Scofield, Shirley Hause and Esther Osborne.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, David Willaman, and two sons-in-law, Dick Rodemoyer and Don Jones.
The family has suggested that memorial tributes may be made to the Fredonia Presbyterian Church, 24 Water St., Fredonia, PA 16124.
