William J. Rowe

Hermitage man served in Korean conflict


- — William J. Rowe of Hermitage passed away at 5:49 a.m. Thursday, June 12, 2014, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. He was 81.

Mr. Rowe was born Sept. 3, 1932, in what was then Hickory Township, a son of John and Florence Newell Rowe.

He served in the Korean conflict.

Surviving are a daughter, Patricia Rowe; and a son, Mark A. Rowe, both Hermitage; two sisters, Elizabeth Baugh and Mary Jane Kolbrich, both Hermitage; and a grandson, Michael.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Joann Lindsey Rowe, in May 2001.

Calling hours: Family visitation from 11 a.m. to time of service Saturday (6-14-14) in SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 3126 Main St., West Middlesex.

Service: Family services at 1 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev. Wade Barto, pastor of West Middlesex United Methodist Church, officiating.

Interment: Will follow at Morefield Cemetery, Hermitage.
