Marketing rep was den mother, school volunteer

BETHEL PARK, Pa. — Kristen L. Stefan, 5030 Van Voorhis Drive, Bethel Park, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon, July 9, 2014, while vacationing at Lake Erie in Westfield, N.Y. She was 37.

Mrs. Stefan was born July 31, 1976, in Greenville, a daughter of George P. Fox Jr. and Judith A. Manilla Fox.

She was a 1994 graduate of Sharpsville High School and attended the Shenango campus of Pennsylvania State University, Sharon.

Kristen was a marketing representative for various companies and previously worked as a podiatrist assistant for many doctors.

She was a member of St. Louise de Marillac Catholic Church, Upper St. Clair, Pa., and belonged to an independent Bible study group.

Kristen was a den mother for her son’s Boy Scout troop and a volunteer at George Washington Elementary School, Bethel Park, where he attends. She also belonged to a mothers’ group who met for play dates with their children.

Her husband, Todd R. Stefan, whom she married July 20, 2002, in St. Michael’s Church, Greenville, is the former band director for Sharpsville High School and currently the director of bands at North Allegheny High School.

Kristen is survived by: her husband and a son, Tyler, 9, at home.

She also leaves: her parents, George and Judy Fox, Sharpsville; a sister, Amanda Roeder and her husband Jason and their son Noah, Neshannock Township, Lawrence County; a brother, Anthony “Tony” Fox, Louisville, Ky.; her father- and mother-in-law, Robert J. and Linda J. Stefan, Ellwood City; a sister-in-law, Hope Wolfe and her husband Bob, Wexford; a grandmother, Virginia Galardo, Sharon; aunts and uncles, Jim and Renee Manilla, Hermitage; Margie Kuzel, Sharon; Mary and Bill Gaborko, Hesperia, Calif.; Monica Lazor, Perrysburg, Ohio; Dorothy and Michael Fox, New Castle; Paul and Rosie Fox, Temecula, Calif.; Dan and Karen Fox, Corona, Calif.; and Tina and Ron Hovis, Clark; and many cousins.

Kristen was preceded in death by her grandparents, Frank Galardo and George and Dorothy Fox.

Friends of the family have established a memorial fund for Kristen; memorial contributions may be made to Kristen Stefan Memorial Fund, 5023 Van Voorhis Drive, Bethel Park, PA 15102.
