Police, fire -- Aug. 24, 2008



State police

• A New Jersey man was hurt when he fell asleep while driving about 2 a.m. Thursday on Interstate 80 in Lackawannock Township and his car hit a tractor-trailer, police said.

Suljo Pirija, 51, was treated at UPMC Horizon, Farrell, for moderate injuries after striking the truck driven by Jason Wrensch, 35, of Wisconsin, who was not injured, police said.

DRUNKEN DRIVING ARRESTS

New Wilmington

• David W. Williamson, 20, of Lowellville, Ohio; on Thursday at state Route 208 and New Castle Street after a hit-and-run accident in which no one was hurt; also charged with reckless driving, failing to stop at the scene of an accident and other traffic voilations.

Mercer County DUI Task Force

• Lesley Agosti, 26, of 189 Columbia Ave., Greenville, at 2:44 a.m. Aug. 23 at East State Street and Cohassett Drive in Hermitage.
