• Mark A. McNulty Jr., 20, of 1535 Parke Drive, Hermitage, has been charged with theft for stealing $20 from a relative’s wallet at 7:51 p.m. Aug. 19 in the 1500 block of Parke Drive, police said.

• Mark A. McNulty Jr., 20, of 1535 Parke Drive, Hermitage, has been charged with theft for stealing $20 from a relative’s wallet at 7:51 p.m. Aug. 19 in the 1500 block of Parke Drive, police said.

• Mary A. Kausek-Bixler, 58, of 544 Hawthorne Place, Sharon, has been charged with bad checks for issuing a $50,000 check Aug. 1 to C the Difference LLC Construction as a down payment on a house in the 3000 block of Panin Road, police said. The check was returned for insufficient funds, police said.

• Dianne M. McFarland, 40, of 279 Cedar Ave., Sharon, has been charged with bad checks for issuing a $212 check June 20 to Rice Pools and Spa, 3604 E. State St., that was returned for insufficient funds, police said.

• Nicholas A. Vukovich, 20, of 449 Fisher Hill, Sharon, has been charged with possession of marijuana. Police said they found a bag of the drug in the center console of his car during a traffic stop at 2:50 a.m. Aug. 16 in the 4000 block of East State Street.

State police

• Someone tried to pry open the front door of R and L Bait and Tackle, 70 District Road, Delaware Township, between 9:10 p.m. Saturday and 5:50 a.m. Sunday, but did not get inside, police said.

• Philip J. Hoffman, 22, of Grove City, has been charged with three counts of forgery and one count each of possession of a controlled substance and receiving stolen property for using fake prescriptions to try to obtain Oxycodone, a prescription painkiller, from the Wellness Zone Pharmacy and Rite Aid, both in Pine Township, police said.

• Ross E. Seliga, 38, of 474 Logan Ave., Sharon, has been charged with unsworn falsification for writing on an application to buy a firearm that he had never been involuntarily committed to a mental institution when records show he had been in January 2003, police said. Seliga was turned down on his application in November when he tried to buy a gun at an undisclosed location in Hermitage, police said.
