Police, Fire for April 16, 2013

---- — Brookfield

• An xBox game system, controller and game were stolen between 9:30 p.m. Saturday and 10 p.m. Sunday from a home in the 600 block of South Stateline Road, police said. There were no signs of forced entry, police said.

Grove City

• A coin box from a laundry machine was discovered stolen at 7 a.m. Sunday at Leisure Time Laundry, 1301 W. Main St..

• Sean F. Miller, 20, of 606 Barkeyville Road, Pine Township, was arrested at 1:28 a.m. Sunday at East Butler Street and Mercer Grove City Road, Mercer, after being pursued by Grove City police, police said.

Police said they stopped Miller’s vehicle on West Main Street at Memorial Park in Grove City for failing to use a turn signal and careless driving.

After the pursuit, Miller was charged with fleeing police, driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, driving under suspension, reckless and careless driving, improper signal, an open container violation and failing to stop for police.

Hempfield Township

• Jonathan R. McGirr, 48, of 181 Williamson Road, Hempfield Township, has been charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia and his wife, Susan E. McGirr, 35, with possession of drug paraphernalia for having three marijuana plants growing in their back yard, police said.


• Kaylan B. Taylor, 18, of 1973 Overlook Drive, Hermitage, has been charged with theft and unauthorized use of a vehicle for stealing a relative’s car at about 7 p.m. Jan. 20 from home, police said.

Southwest Mercer County Regional

• Donald J. Slater, 31, of 3752 N. Hermitage Road, Pymatuning Township, has been charged with burglary and theft for entering a home through an unlocked door and stealing jewelry valued at $4,000, which he sold at a local jewelry dealer for $250, March 11 in the 3300 block of Habarka Road, Shenango Township, police said.

• Jade J. Samuels, 23, of 902 Market Ave., Farrell, was arrested at 1:17 p.m. Saturday in the 1000 block of Wallis Avenue, Farrell, on a charge of theft for borrowing a computer March 25 from a resident of the 800 block of Market and selling it at a local electronics dealer, police said.

State police

• Two company vehicles were broken into between March 28 and April 4 in the rear parking lot of Imperial Systems Inc. in Jackson Township.

A large number of hand and power tools were stolen from tool boxes in several trucks.
