West Salem Township


• Anthony Joseph Weiland, 20, of 289 S. Mercer St., Greenville, was charged with burglary, theft and receiving stolen property after he stole several pieces of jewelry from a woman and had them sold Nov. 7 for more than $200 so he could buy drugs, police said.

Shane Joseph Patterson, 30, of 12 Vance St., Greenville, sold the jewelry at 3:40 p.m. Nov. 7 when he knew the items were stolen, police said. He was charged with receiving stolen property.

Hempfield Township

• Police recovered a leaf blower stolen during the last six months. Call police at 724-588-7369 to claim it.

Sharpsville

• Paul A. Ferguson, 34, of 2748 Mercer-West Middlesex Road, West Middlesex, was charged Tuesday with aggravated and simple assault after he threw a man down and slammed his head off the floor at 5:46 p.m. Nov. 24, police said.

The victim suffered a cranial fracture and brain hemorrhage, police said.

• Richard Rodriguez, 37, of 34 W. Ridge Ave., Sharpsville, was charged with allowing gambling for hosting an illegal game of Texas Hold ’Em poker with a minimum $50 buy-in at his home Nov. 26, police said.

Rodriguez called police at 2:25 a.m. when one of the players ran off with the bank bag with $1,900 in it, police said.

South Pymatuning Township

• Ryan Carleton Riffe, of 494 Coal Hill Road, West Salem Township, was charged with two counts of theft for stealing $210 and 25 OxyContin pills out of a friend’s vehicle when he gave him a ride Dec. 9, police said.

• Clifford R. Zuschlag, 27, of 32 Lancaster Ave., Greenville, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia after police found in his vehicle four bags of heroin, two spoons used for cooking, two glass pipes, a syringe and tourniquet in plain sight Dec. 28, police said.

Zuschlag had left his car on the side of Kane Road and was walking to get fuel when police picked him up.

• Colin M. O’Brien, 23, of Fredonia; at 4:47 p.m. Dec. 20 p.m. on Mercer Road at Baker Hill Road, Delaware Township, where his car rear-ended a sport-utility vehicle driven by a Jamestown woman; also charged with following too closely, driving at an unsafe speed and careless driving.

Southwest Mercer County Regional

• Jacqualine M. Hermann, 35, of 301 Stambaugh Ave., Sharon; at 6:33 p.m. Tuesday at Farrell Golden Dawn, 827 Sharon New Castle Road, Farrell, where police were investigating a retail theft complaint, on a warrant from Mercer County Intermediate Punishment Program.

• Raven R. Hill, 33, of New Castle; at 4:58 p.m. Wednesday by Sharon police on a Southwest warrant charging her with drunken driving.
