Police, Fire from Feb. 15, 2011

---- — Grove City

• Joseph J. Mathieson, 34, of Slippery Rock, has been charged with theft and receiving stolen property for stealing seven junk aluminum rims Jan. 20 or 21 from Schall’s Tire Service, 402 N. Broad St., and selling them Jan. 21 at Slippery Rock Salvage, police said.

• A set of keys was found Friday on West Pine Street. The keys can be claimed at the police station.

Pymatuning Township

• Zion’s United Church of Christ, 17 Church St., has been hit with a second rash of graffiti, police said.

Sunday morning it was discovered that someone had sprayed black lines with paint on the church, police said. Someone spray-painted “demon” and possible devil horns on the church in late January, police said.

Sandy Lake

• Chelsie R. Campbell, 26, of 22 School St., Sandy Lake, has been charged with simple assault, defiant trespassing and theft for refusing to leave the 26 High St. home of Shannon Ditta at about 2:30 a.m. Feb. 5 and for hitting Ms. Ditta in the head and face.

Ms. Ditta was trapped in a vehicle with Ms. Campbell for about two hours before escaping to a neighbor’s house, police said. Ms. Campbell also stole Ms. Ditta’s car keys and cellular telephone, police said. Ms. Campbell was found hiding in Ms. Ditta’s home, police said.

Sharon

• Adam M. Shaffer, 24, of 347 Russell St., Sharon, was charged with loitering and prowling at night, attempted theft from a motor vehicle and public drunkenness after a woman called police at 4:05 a.m. Monday to report a man trying to get into cars in the 400 block of A Street, police said.

Police said Shaffer ran and they found him hiding in a window well at a nearby home.

• Nicole Kostik, 25, of 32 S. Fourth Ave., Sharon, was cited for harassment at 6:15 p.m. Friday at 820 Federal Drive after hitting a man during a custody dispute, police said.

• Jason Thompson, 29, of 531 McClure Ave., Sharon, was cited for making terroristic threats at 7:40 p.m. Friday in the 1200 block of Baldwin Avenue after telling a 31-year-old Sharon man he was going to kill him, police said.

• Drew L. Williams, 21, of 1128 Wallis Ave., Farrell, was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness at 12:48 a.m. Saturday in the 900 block of North Sharpsville Avenue, police said.

• William Leslie Jr., 22, of 809 Prindle St., Sharon, was cited for harassment at 1:43 a.m. Saturday at home, police said.

• Jeronecq M. McKnight, 26, of 211 Mesabi St., Sharon, was charged with making terroristic threats and disorderly conduct at 12:42 a.m. Monday in the 200 block of Mesabi after police were called to a neighborhood dispute for a second time that morning, police said.

SW Mercer County Regional

• J.B. Ray Brown, 26, of 1601 Roemer Blvd., Farrell, was charged with harassment at 9:17 a.m. Friday after refusing to leave when police responded to a domestic dispute at his home, they said.

• William D. Weaver, 18, of 1114 Bond St., Farrell, was charged with aggravated assault and recklessly endangering the welfare of a child at 4:20 p.m. Friday after police said they investigated possible abuse of a 2-month-old.

The child had bruises to the face, chest and back, scratches and possible internal injuries and was transported to UPMC Children’s Hospital, Pittsburgh, police said. Weaver was taken to Mercer County jail after failing to post bond.

• Antonio D. Gibson, 28, of 618 Hamilton Ave., Farrell, was charged with simple assault at 9:53 p.m. Sunday after police said they responded to a domestic dispute at his home. Police said the victim had been hit several times.

State police

• Daniel B. Kirsch, 19, of 4681 Whippoorwill Drive, Hermitage, was arrested at 9:05 p.m. Jan. 9 on Interstate 79 northbound, Lake Township, on charges of driving under the influence of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving at an unsafe speed and careless driving, police said.

• Charles F. Simon, 21, of 303 Hillcrest Circle, Grove City, has been charged with receiving stolen property for returning stolen computer games at 4:45 p.m. Feb. 4 to  Walmart, Pine Township, police said.

• A wallet was stolen from a locker between 5:45 and 7:25 p.m. Thursday at the Grove City YMCA, Pine Township, police said.

• Two tires were slashed Feb. 1 or 2 on Magnolia Lane, Wolf Creek Township, police said.

• Stephanie G. Wright, 26, of Columbus, Ohio, was treated at Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township, after her car hit an embankment and rolled at 9:10 a.m. Saturday on Interstate 80 eastbound, Wolf Creek Township, police said.

DRUNKEN DRIVING ARRESTS

State police

• Ashley N. Buchanan, 20, of Conneaut Lake; at 6:15 a.m. Jan. 22 on state Route 258, south of Brent Road, Liberty Township, where her vehicle rolled; also charged with underage purchase, a lane violation, driving at an unsafe speed and careless driving, police said.

• Ryan V. Wigton, 24, of 403 Bessemer Ave., Grove City; at 9:30 p.m. Jan. 14 at state Route 173 and Browntown Road, Liberty Township, where his sport-utility vehicle rolled onto its side; also charged with a lane violation and careless driving; treated at Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township, police said.

WARRANT ARRESTS

Sharon

• Arnold K. Frieson, 22, of 492 North St., Sharon; after a traffic stop at 9:22 p.m. Saturday at North Oakland Avenue and North Street on a warrant from domestic relations.

Mercer County Sheriff

• Heidi Winterberger, 24, of 569 E. Crestview Drive, Pymatuning Township; Friday on a warrant for failing to appear in court.
