ä Charles Hawkins Jr., 53, of 347 Hadley Road, Lot 29, Hempfield Township, at about 3 p.m. Sep. 17 allegedly approached a worker who was at his home to fix a broken pipe and threatened him. Police said Hawkins told him he has “lots of weapons and knows how to use them.”
Hawkins was charged with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia and disorderly conduct.
ä Kevin D. Stromyer, of 1141 Fredonia Road, Hadley, was treated at a local hospital after his car collided at 5:15 p.m. Sept. 12 with one driven by Robert M. McHugh, of 483 Lytle School Road, Greenville, police said.
McHugh was northbound on Methodist Road and turned into the path of Stromyer, who was eastbound on Hadley Road, police said.
ä At 8:49 p.m. Sept. 5 a minor was driving west on Williamson Road, lost control, went off the road and hit a mailbox, went through a ditch, and hit a tree before the vehicle rolled onto its side then upright, police said. The driver was treated on the scene for minor injuries, police said.
ä Police were called Saturday to a report of attempted burglary in the 2100 block of Paul Street. At about 11 p.m. Friday, residents heard pounding at the back door and someone trying to get in police said. Nothing was stolen, but the lock on the back door was broken, police said..
ä Kenneth W. Pratschler, 48, of 1364 Greenville-Mercer Road, Mercer, was charged at about 3 a.m. Saturday in the 700 block of Standard Avenue with possession of a controlled substance and driving under suspension when police found a crack pipe in his vehicle.
