- — Greenville-West Salem Township

• Ryan Burns, 28, of 96 Clarksville St., Greenville, was arrested Thursday and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

State police

• Someone stole cans of gasoline from an East Lackawannock Township man’s garage. The resident of 7498 Sharon-Mercer Road told police six cans, each containing five gallons of gas, were stolen in recent months from his unlocked garage. The gas was valued at $176, police said.

• A Grove City-area truck driver was the victim of theft and forgery involving business checks. Someone stole 11 checks from the tractor trailer at 1268 Barkeyville Road. The checks were later forged and cashed for a total of $564, police said.

Investigators have an unnamed suspect, police said.

• One motorist was hurt in a rear-end crash at about 4:40 p.m. Tuesday in French Creek Township. Jeremy P. Dirks, 41, of Carlton drove his car into the rear of a pickup driven by Orva M. Lambright, 57, of Hadley, police said.

Lambright, traveling north on state Route 173, was turning left onto Sheakleville Road when Dirks’ car hit her truck, police said. Dirks, who was treated at Meadville Hospital, was cited for speeding, police said. Both drivers were wearing safety belts.

• Neither driver was hurt but one was cited after a two-car crash at 12:30 a.m. May 17 in Springfield Township.

Gary D. Bland, 31, of Meadville, pulled from Garret Drive into the path of a car driven by Tamela J. Knauf, 48, of Mercer, who was eastbound on Butler Pike, police said.

Bland’s car was struck on the driver’s door and had to be towed. He was cited for a stop sign violation, police said.

• No one was seriously hurt but one driver was cited after a crash at about 2:15 p.m. Wednesday on Mercer Street near Walnut Street in Sandy Lake Township, police said.

Shirley A. Bennefield, 55, of Sandy Lake, struck the rear of a southbound car vehicle driven by John W. Shaffer, 49, of Stoneboro, who was turning left into a gas station. Both vehicles were driven from the scene. Bennefield was cited for careless driving, police said.

• A Franklin driver wasn’t seriously hurt but he was cited for a crash at 11:20 p.m. May 19 in Worth Township. Michael P. Tucker, 35, lost control of his eastbound sport-utility vehicle on a curve on state Route 965. It rolled over and struck an embankment, police said.

Tucker was cited for speeding, police said.
