Police, Fire from June 1, 2013

• Jesse Bewley, 24, of 1007 Fabian Way, broke into a car at about 4 a.m. Friday and stole $22 in change, police said.

The car’s owner saw the incident in the 100 block of Fifth Avenue and called police. They caught Bewley after a short chase, police said.

He was charged with theft from a motor vehicle and loitering and prowling and released on bond.

State police

• A young driver was speeding just before a crash at about 4:35 p.m. Thursday on Coolspring Church Road, south of Miller School Road in Coolspring Township, police said.

Mario Vincent Manfredi, 18, no address given, lost control of a northbound Hummer H3. It ran off the road, hit a utility pole and careened back onto the road where it rolled onto the driver’s side, police said.

Manfredi was treated at Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township. An unidentified juvenile passenger was flown to St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown, where further information was unavailable.

• Someone stole a tractor valued at $40,000 from Lamb & Webster, 1085 Sandy Lake Road, Wolf Creek Township, police said.

The 2012 model Case International Harvester Farmall 110A tractor was taken from the equipment dealer between May 2 and 10, police said.
