Police, Fire from Feb. 17, 2014

- — State police

• Someone tried to buy groceries and obtain cash with a fictitious payroll check Feb. 6 at Grove City County Market, 49 Pine Grove Square, Pine Township, police said. The man left before receiving any money or groceries, police said.

• A Greenville man was taken to a local hospital after his car was hit by a fork attachment on a loader at 6:04 a.m. Friday on Perry Highway, north of Steck Road, Sandy Creek Township, police said.

The injured man, Branden J. Britton, 28, was northbound when the loader driven by Tyler Q. Niederriter, 27, of Atlantic, pulled onto the roadway from a parking lot, police said.

Niederriter was cited.
