Police, Fire from June 29, 2014

- — Greenville-West Salem Township

•Police on Wednesday recovered two marijuana plants being grown in a field in West Salem Township.

•A blue Dodge Dakota pickup was parked near 24 S. Second St. in Greenville when it was hit at 2:40 a.m. Tuesday by a light-colored sedan traveling south that is now missing a passenger side mirror, police said.

The car’s driver paused then left the scene without contacting the owner, police said.

Grove City

•A woman driving a 2013 dark red Dodge Ram 1500 pickup with a Texas license plate drove off at about 1:25 p.m. Thursday from Kwik Fill without paying for fuel, police said.

The truck is a standard cab with a short bed and it is missing a portion of the front bumper.

Sharpsville

•Andrew V. Perillo, 25, of Hubbard, was arrested Monday for allegedly breaking in through the rear door of a home on the 900 block of Pierce Avenue at 3:50 p.m. June 20, and stealing a laptop, iPod docking station, a book of blank checks, jewelry and a digital camera, worth more than $1,100, police said.

The owner of the bank account was notified when Perillo attempted to cash a check for $1,000 and the next day for $2,000 in a Neshannock bank, police said.

He is in Lawrence County Jail after failing to post $75,000 bail.

•William R. Crawford, 29, of 816 W. Ridge Ave., Sharpsville, was charged with possession of marijuana and public drunkenness at 2:18 a.m. June 22 in the 900 block of West Ridge Avenue, police said.

Police saw him sitting on the sidewalk with his legs in the street, and his belongings beside him. He said he fought with his girlfriend, and confirmed that the cigarette behind his ear was a “blunt,” which is a marijuana cigar, police said.

State police

•A black, 12-foot, flat-bed trailer was stolen from the parking lot of a Jamestown area business between 4 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday, police said.

A white 3,200-pound Liftmore crane was bolted on the right rear corner of the trailer taken from Custom Welding Solutions, 1990 Williamsfiled Road, West Shenango Township, Crawford County, police said.
