Police, Fire from July 9, 2014

- — Hermitage

• Joseph R. Emerich, 30, of 1515 South Hermitage Road, Hermitage, was charged with simple assault for pushing a woman to the ground, causing her to hit her face on a blacktop driveway, at 5:04 a.m. Sunday at home, police said.

• Tools were stolen from a garage Sunday or Monday at Williams Brothers Trucking, 121 Ohio St., police said.

Southwest Mercer County Regional

• Police said they are investigating about five reports of vandalism that occurred in recent days in the 1500 block of Farrell Terrace, Farrell.

• Two truck batteries were stolen from a dump truck owned by Allison Park (Pa.) Contractors at the Interstate 376-Route 318 construction site in Shenango Township, said police, who were notified Monday.



• Joseph Puhac Jr., 23, of 694 Charlotte Ave., Hermitage; at 1:47 a.m. Saturday at home; also charged with simple assault for hitting a woman in the face at home.

State police

• Tanner J. Edwards, 24, of Jackson Center; at 1:50 a.m. June 22 on Kilgore Road, west of Hunter Road, Worth Township, where his pickup hit several trees; also charged with a lane violation, driving at an unsafe speed, careless driving and no seat belt; Edwards was taken to a regional hospital and a passenger, Amber R. Shirley, 29, of Ellwood City, was treated at Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township.
