Police, Fire from July 17, 2014

- — Grove City

• A wallet was stolen from a car between 7:30 p.m. Friday and 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the 200 block of Jackson Street, police said.

• Someone pried open the hatch of a vehicle and stole a wallet containing $489 and jar of quarters containing $65 Sunday or Monday at an undisclosed location, police said.

Hermitage

• John G. Wassil Jr., 76, of 19 Stone Ridge Blvd., Hermitage, was charged with simple assault for hitting a woman in the head at least twice July 11 at home, police said.

Sharon

• An air compressor, an impact driver, a drill, a battery charger, a weed trimmer and other tools were stolen from a garage Monday or Tuesday in the 1200 block of Sherman Avenue, police said. There were no signs of forced entry, police said.

Sharpsville

• William R. Crawford, 29, of 816 W. Ridge Ave., Sharpsville, was charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct, harassment and public drunkenness at 1:27 a.m. July 6 outside Double A’s Lounge, 512 W. Main St., when he punched a woman in the head and shoved her after he was removed from the bar, police said.

• D’Andre Wilkins, 24, of 509 Pennsylvania Ave., Farrell, and Mason Storm Beach, 23, of 39 E. Shenango St., Sharpsville, were both charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment at 4:12 a.m. July 11 at 21 E. Shenango St. for punching and kicking a man in the face and head multiple times after they knocked him down when he confronted them about the loud noise they were making outside, police said.

Southwest Mercer County Regional

• Riquanda C. Brodie, 25, of 380 Orange Drive, Hermitage, was charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct for fighting with Gail Hopson, 21, of 332 Sterling Ave., Sharon, at 7:06 p.m. July 10 in the 1600 block of Farrell Terrace, Farrell, police said. Hopson previously was charged with aggravated and simple assault and disorderly conduct for driving her sport-utility vehicle into Brodie, police said.

State police

• Bradley Allen Clayton, 37, of 101 N. 16th St., Pymatuning Township, was arrested for making a false statement when he tried to buy a firearm on June 23 at Grill Gun and Supply, Grove Township, police said.

• An unnamed male was charged July 4 for making false statements during the transfer of a firearm at Elite Firearms, 1400 N. Hermitage Road, Hermitage, at 4:21 p.m. March 15, police said.
