Police, Fire from July 11, 2014

- — Grove City

• A 17-year-old has been charged with theft for stealing $603 from the belongings of four employees between June 10 and July 4 at Hillview Elementary and Grove City Middle schools, police said.

• A .38-caliber revolver was stolen between June 24 and Wednesday from a home in the 400 block of Flower Avenue, police said.

• A plastic picnic table was stolen between 2 p.m. Tuesday and 6 a.m. Wednesday from the 100 block of West Poplar Street, police said.

Pymatuning Township

• Mitchell Reams, 19, of Greenville, has been charged with theft for stealing a pair of headphones at 11:10 p.m. July 5 from the front yard of a home in the 300 block of 12th Street, police said.


• Two dogs are being quarantined after one of them bit a city woman earlier this week.

The 28-year-old woman was walking at about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday near Silver Street and Fifth Avenue. Two boxers approached her and one of them bit her chest, causing bleeding, police said.

The victim was taken by private vehicle for medical treatment.

The dogs’ owner, Harry Parker, of 60 Fifth Ave., showed a license for one of the dogs but had no record of rabies vaccination for either one. The dogs were taken for quarantine to Shenango Valley Animal Shelter, police said.

• Tony Martinez Meeks faces an assault charge after hitting a woman who lives with him at 159 E. State St., police said.

Meeks, 44, argued with the 35-year-old woman at about 8:45 p.m. Wednesday. He bit her on the chest and  hit her several times, police said.

Meeks was charged with simple assault under the Domestic Violence Act. He was taken to jail on a parole detainer, police said.

• Gary Stanley, 55, was charged Wednesday with simple assault under the Domestic Violence Act. During an argument at about 9:15 p.m. Wednesday, Stanley choked a 33-year-old Sharpsville woman who was visting him, police said.


State police

• Clyde E. Hawkins, 37, of Sharon; at 10:15 p.m. Wednesday on a Trumbull County warrant after a traffic stop on Quinby Street, Sharon.
