Police, Fire from May 8, 2013

---- — Fish and Boat Commission

• Christopher W. Linden, 21, of Morgantown, W.Va., has been charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia for having a bag of pot and a pipe at 8:51 p.m. April 12 a camp site along Neshannock Creek, Springfield Township, police said.


West Salem Township

• Kristen Marie Mahn, 26, of 15 W. Main St., Greenville, was cited at 2:33 p.m. Friday for allowing her dog to run at large numerous times, chasing kids and killing a neighbor’s cat, police said.

• Ronnie L. Groce, 68, of Greenville, has been charged with aggravated and simple assault, reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct for an incident at 6:04 p.m. Saturday in which a man was dragged by a vehicle at South Mercer and Main streets, Greenville, police said.

Grove City

• Williams D. Isenberg, 45, of 117 S. Broad St., Grove City, has been charged with harassment for following a woman and yelling profanities at her April 29 at an undisclosed location, police said.

Hempfield Township

• Three out-of-area men face drug-possession charges after a traffic stop at 7:20 p.m. April 18 on Conneaut Lake Road at Goetch Road in Sugar Grove Township, police said.

Richard Smallwood, 20, of Aliquippa, and Thomas E. Thorpe, 20, of Charleroi, Pa., were charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, police said.

Cash Culver, 21, of Akron, was charged with possession and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

A search of the car turned up marijuana, prescription pills, pill bottles, clear plastic bags, rolling papers and a multi-colored marijuana bowl, police said.

Mercer County Drug Task Force

• Ryan A. Davis, 34, of 383 N. Perry Highway, Coolspring Township, has been charged with possession of crack cocaine with intent to deliver, possession of crack and criminal use of a cellular telephone for selling crack for $100 to an informant June 21 and 27 at home, police said.

Mercer County Sheriff

• Authorities said Ashley Mazzo, 24, of 949 Franklin Road, Jackson Township, has been charged with solicitation to commit possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of a telephone for calling two men from Mercer County Jail April 27 and trying to arrange to have one of them hide pills of Subutex, a narcotic used to treat opiate dependence, in the bathroom of the Farrell district court, where she was to appear for a preliminary hearing on Hermitage police charges of theft and felony retail theft.


• Donna Jane Swogger, 25, of 74 Wengler Ave., at about 6 p.m. Monday hit Justin Matthew Porterfield of Sharon on his side and back with an aluminum baseball bat and chased him out of her house, police said.

Porterfield got hold of the bat, threw Swogger down, choked her and hit her in the legs with the bat, police said.

Both were charged with aggravated and simple assault and disorderly conduct.

• Darryl Cleveland, 46, of 689 Prindle St., Sharon, at 5 p.m. Monday was charged with possession of marijuana after police found the drug in his car in the area of Budd Street and New Castle Avenue, police said.

• Christopher Smith, 28, of 1033 Division St., Sharon, at 3 p.m. Friday was charged with causing an accident involving serious bodily injury and driving without a license on Stambaugh Avenue and Idaho Street, police said.

Smith was taken to Mercer County jail on a warrant and a parole violation, police said.

Donald Harmon, 80, of Hermitage, a passenger in the other car, was taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries, police said.

• Devon Williams, 22, of 919 Hamilton Ave., Farrell, was stopped on Stambaugh Avenue at 10 a.m. Tuesday after Hermitage police put out a description of Williams and his car for allegedly stealing three flat-screen TVs from Walmart earlier in the morning, police said.

Sharon police turned Williams over to Hermitage police and returned the TVs to Walmart, police said.
