Police, Fire from May 19, 2013

• Firefighters responded to a house fire in the 800 block of Lyle Drive at 1 a.m. Saturday, according to a 911 dispatcher.

No details were available as of press time about the fire, which left a family homeless, according to the Red Cross.

No injuries were reported and only one fire department responded, according to the supervisor.

State police

• No one was injured in a two-car crash Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Leesburg Station Road and New Castle-Mercer Road in Wilmington Township.

Pennsylvania State Police said Suzanne G. Prestien, 49, of New Wilmington pulled out in front of a car driven by Joyce B. Goist, 72, also of New Wilmington. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.

Prestien was charged with a stop sign violation.
