Police, fire from Oct. 24, 2013

Grove City

ä A black, plastic toolbox was reported stolen Oct. 15 from the porch of a home in the 100 block of Grant Street, police said.

Hermitage

ä Mark A. Kocis, 31, of 2020 Paul St., Hermitage, has been charged with possession of Darvocet without a prescription and possession of drug paraphernalia for having 5 pills when he was stopped for a traffic violation at 1:45 a.m. Oct. 4 at Lyle and Theota drives, police said.

ä Joshua K. Greaves, 31, of 308 Malleable St., Sharon, has been charged with theft and summary retail theft for stealing diapers Sept. 28 from Walmart, 1275 N. Hermitage Road, and returning them for a $22 refund, and stealing a pet flea medicine Oct. 5 and returning it with a receipt an accomplice found in the parking lot for a $38 refund, police said.

ä Rebecca A. Allison, 34, of 415 Coolidge Drive, Hermitage, has been charged with simple assault and terroristic threats for holding a knife to a man’s head and saying she would stab him at 5:42 p.m. Tuesday at home, and later saying she would shoot a woman or another family member, police said.

Southwest Mercer County Regional

ä Steven T. Mortland, 24, of 3028 Valley View Road, South Pymatuning Township, has been charged with criminal trespass, receiving stolen property, theft and conspiring with Tracy L. Hassel, 32, of 2239 Woodbine Drive, Hermitage, to commit burglary for breaking a window to enter a home Sept. 5 or 6 in the 100 block of Grange Road, Shenango Township, and stealing a television, stereo equipment, $200 and a pickup truck, police said.

The pickup was sold for drugs in Youngstown, police said. Hassel has not been charged.

State police

ä Miscellaneous items were stolen from a home Monday on River Road, Delaware Township, police said. It is not known how the house was entered but a small, stone retaining wall was driven over as the burglar left, police said.

Hermitage

ä Michael J. Mayerchak, 27, of 145 N. Water Ave., Sharon; at 1:05 a.m. Sunday at Highland Road and Boyd Drive; also charged with possession of marijuana, driving under suspension, having obscured license plate and an exhaust violation.

ä Aaron D. Rusby, 22, of Dingmans Fry, Pa.; at 9:41 p.m. Oct. 15 at East State Street and Hermitage Road; also charged with careless driving.
