•Raymond Allan Myers, 21, of 1287 Baldwin Ave., Sharon, faces a simple assault charge after beating up his girlfriend, police said.

The two had been arguing over money at about 3:10 p.m. Tuesday in a downtown alleyway. Myers bloodied the woman’s face by punching her and pushing her face into a brick wall, police said.

The victim was treated for cuts and bruises in a local hospital, police said.

•Brian David Mosley 37, of 194 Third Ave., Sharon, accepted $700 last month from a couple to rent them a house he did not own, police said.

Police charged him Tuesday with theft by deception. He was taken to jail after failing to post bond.

•Lizzie J. Byler, 37, of New Castle had a plastic bag of marijuana in her purse during a security check at about 12:15 a.m. Wednesday in the emergency room of Sharon Regional Health System.

She was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Southwest Mercer County Regional

•Dashawn Scott, 21, of 1116 Washington St., Farrell, faces charges after his arrest in a traffic stop at about 12:45 a.m. Wednesday.

Scott was a passenger in a vehicle stopped for a traffic violation at Pennsylvania Avenue and Roemer Boulevard, Farrell. He was carrying 12 grams of crack cocaine and “a large sum of money,” police said.

Scott was charged with possession and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and posession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

•James R. “JR” West, 38, of 903 Spearman Ave., Farrell, faces charges for stealing a donation jar full of change, police said.

West stole the jar containing an undisclosed amount of money from Citi Line Market, 1158 Fruit Ave., Farrell, police said.

After his release from a local hospital, West was charged at about 11 a.m. Thursday with theft and receiving stolen property.

•Someone stole a charcoal grill in a theft discovered at about 8:15 p.m. Wednesday behind Our Lady of Fatima School, 1225 Union St., Farrell.

The grill with racks was made from a 55-gallon drum, police said.

•Two women attacked two sisters at about 7:05 a.m. Thursday in the 1000 block of Washington Street, Farrell, police said.

One of the victims opened the door after hearing loud knocking and the women, whom police didn’t identify, forced their way inside.

They fought with the two victims, injuring both their faces, police said.

•Someone scratched the paint of a parked car in an incident reported at about 8:40 a.m. Thursday in the 1000 block of Roemer Boulevard, Farrell.

The hood, roof and trunk apparently were scratched with a key, police said.

•Someone drove through the yard and smashed the mailbox in an incident reported at about 7 a.m. Thursday in the 100 block of Wet Track Road, Shenango Township, police said.

WARRANT ARREST

Southwest Mercer County Regional

•Charity N. Haynes, 40, of 7992 W. Market St., Lackawannock Township; turned over for arraignment by Sharon police after her arrest at about 7 p.m. Wednesday on a Southwest warrant for failure to pay.

DUI ARREST

Sharon

•John J. Gruitza, 39, of 167 Crescent Drive, Hermitage; at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Kimberly Road and Buhl Boulevard. Gruitza, who had passed out with the engine of his car running, had been inhaling the contents of an aerosol can which made him incoherent, unsteady on his feet and incapable of driving safely, police said.
