Police, Fire from June 24, 2013

---- — Greenville-West Salem Township

• Joshua J. Owens, 28, of 41 Plum St., Greenville, was charged with carrying a firearm without a license, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness for having a BB pistol that used carbon dioxide when police were called to a disturbance at 1:56 a.m. June 20 near his home, police said.

Grove City

• Methylphenidate pills were stolen in a home burglary June 19 in the 500 block of South Center Street, police said.

Hempfield Township

• Thad B. Lasko, 40, of Franklin St., Greenville, was charged with stalking, defiant trespass, harassment and disorderly conduct for following a man around the store at 8:33 p.m. June 11 in Giant Eagle, 50 Hadley Road, and yelling at him, police said. Lasko left the store upon request but returned and followed the victim around the store again and yelled at him, police said.

Hermitage

• Edwin P. Coast, 51, of Volant, was charged with simple assault and public drunkenness of hitting a boy in the face with a log four inches in diameter at 9:13 p.m. June 20 in a wooded area on the south side of Kelly Road, Hermitage, police said.

• Brent W. Magargee, 41, and Patricia J. Caruso, 34, of 416 12th St., Pymatuning Township, each were charged with theft and conspiracy to commit theft for stealing $240 from a wallet mistakenly left in a shopping cart May 16 in Walmart, 1275 N. Hermitage Road, police said.

• James V. Schrecengost, 70, of 7760 Stewart Sharon Road, Masury, was charged with forgery, possessing instruments of crime, attempted theft and conspiracy to commit forgery for giving a man a counterfeit $50 bill that he tried to pass May 29 at Giant Eagle, 2365 E. State St., police said.

• Charles A. Costea, 25, of 662 N. Stateline Road, Masury, was arrested at 3:11 a.m. June 16 at Highland Road and Dutch Lane on charges of driving under the influence of Clonazepam and a lane violation, police said.

• Jason T. Bees, 33, of 68 Milton St., Clark, and Robert J. Murphy II, 32, of 1830 Powers Ave., Sharpsville, each were charged with simple assault and harassment for fighting at 2:47 p.m. June 14 in the 1600 block of Dutch Lane, police said.
