Police, Fire from April 11, 2014

- — Greenville-West Salem Township

•Meranda Myers, 25, of 27 E. Stewart Ave., Greenville, has been charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia for items found on her when police were called to a domestic dispute at 7:14 p.m. Tuesday at her home, police said.

•Ricky L. Thompson, 38, and Cynthia Darr-Ritts, 24, both of Greenville, were arrested after police responded to a disturbance call at 4:55 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of College Avenue, police said. They each were charged with theft, attempted theft and conspiracy to commit theft, while Thompson also was charged with inhaling toxic substances, police said. He told police he had been inhaling “dust.”

Hempfield Township

•Someone stole eight chainsaws from a truck and a garage owned by Daniel Little Tree Service, 163 College Ave., said police, who were notified at 8:15 a.m. Monday.

•Blank checks were stolen between March 27 and April 5 from Jackson Hewitt Tax Service, 45 Williamson Road, police said.

•Rachel Ramp, 27, of 47 Columbia Ave., Greenville, has been charged with theft for stealing $700 from a car March 22 at Whitecliff Health and Rehabilitation Center, 110 Fredonia Road, police said.

Ramp worked for Whitecliff and stole a key to the vehicle belonging to another employee, police said.

Hermitage

•Katara Joe, 26, of 611 Spearman Ave., Farrell, has been charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia for having a jar of pot on a kitchen counter during a search at 4:50 p.m. June 18 at her former home in the 1400 block of Parke Drive, police said.

State police

•Wendy B. Hinkson, 41, of Mercer, was cited for following too closely after she rear-ended an ambulance at 9:31 a.m. March 31 on Sharon Mercer Road, east of Autumn Drive, in East Lackawannock Township, police said.

The westbound ambulance had stopped for a vehicle in front of it, which was waiting to turn, police said. Ambulance driver Micah A. Haney, 25, of Mercer, and a passenger Kenneth J. Shacklock, 62, of Mercer, were taken to a local hospital for observation, police said.

Volunteers from East End Fire Department, Mercer, assisted.

•Thomas D. Elder, 32, of Sandy Lake, has been cited with bad checks for issuing an $18 check on a closed account Feb. 28 at Anchor’s Away, 2436 Mercer St., Sandy Lake Township, police said.

•William Wharry, 31, of 2861 Mercer West Middlesex Road, Shenango Township; at 2:38 a.m. March 20 in the 3500 block of Sharon Road, West Middlesex.

State police

•Brandi D. Childs, 35, of Jackson Center; at 2:45 a.m. March 11 on U.S. Route 62 near state Route 965, Jackson Township; also charged with careless driving and a high beam violation.
