Police, Fire from April 23, 2014

- — Brookfield

• Mateusz M. Wasielewski, 20, of Greenville; Logan Cook, 18, of Grove City; and Ryan Alford, 20, of Fredonia, were charged with underage drinking after they were seen in a parking lot drinking beer at 10:40 p.m. Friday in Yankee Lake, police said.

• Joseph Arter, 28, of Akron, has been cited with criminal trespassing and criminal mischief for forcing open a gate Saturday or Sunday at the Truck Night grounds in Yankee Lake and getting his truck stuck in mud in the parking lot, police said.

Fish and Boat Commission

• Guy M. McMaster, 49, of Zelienople, and Michael J. Prementine, 53, of New Castle, were charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia for having pot and a pipe at 5:33 p.m. April 11 on gas well property off U.S. Route 19 in Springfield Township, near Neshannock Creek, officials said.


West Salem Township

• Danielle Elizabeth Liese, 29, of Greenville, was charged Monday with possession of drug paraphernalia, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness, after a disturbance was reported at 5:09 a.m. April 13 in Sheetz, 294 Main St., Greenville, police said.

Hempfield Township

• Someone stole $25 from a vehicle and a .22-caliber rifle from another on Fairway Drive sometime overnight April 19, police said.


• A New Castle woman was arrested Tuesday and an Ellwood City man is being sought for stealing a car from Mercer that was found in a ditch in Jefferson Township, police said.

Steven M. Tedrow, 23, and Cynthia M. Salomon, 26, each have been charged with theft, receiving stolen property and unauthorized use of a vehicle. They were staying at a home April 17 and 18 in the 300 block of East Market Street when they stole the resident’s station wagon, police said.


• No one was injured when fire damaged a second-floor bedroom at about 5:05 p.m. Monday at 548 Lafayette Ave.

Tenants Audrey Green, 38; Jodi Khasria, 37; and a teenager escaped safely, Chief Terry Whalen said, noting the cause wasn’t immediately determined.

Fire damage was confined to the bedroom. Landlord Aladine Attalah has insurance and a fire restoration company was working on the house Tuesday, Whalen said.

Farrell firefighters assisted. American Red Cross is helping the residents with emergency housing aid, Whalen said.


• A juvenile was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after he was found inside Grimms Heating and Cooling, 1427 Main St., at 8:48 p.m. April 13, police said.

• Chad David Little, 35, of 104 N. Mercer Ave., Apartment D, Sharpsville, was charged Tuesday with making terroristic threats, assault, disorderly conduct and harassment after he and two others followed a man out of Jerry’s Tavern, 111 W. Main St., at 8 p.m. April 4, threatened him, and punched him multiple times in the face, chest and stomach, police said.

• Kurtis Matthew Bechtel, 23, of 2326 Kelly Road, Hermitage, at 1:13 a.m. Saturday, was charged with fleeing and eluding police and eight traffic citations after he led police on a chase in his Honda all terrain vehicle through Sharon and Sharpsville, speeding over the Walnut Street bridge and east on East High Street toward North Mercer Avenue, eventually to his residence, police said.

• Robert Allen Parrish, 19, of Kinsman, was charged Tuesday with assault after he pushed a man down steps and punched him eight times causing injuries to his face, head, and legs at 10:55 p.m. April 15 at 20 S. First St., police said.

• Rebekah L. Eckles, 27, of 1640 Hall Ave., Sharpsville, at 11:55 p.m. Thursday, was charged with assault for throwing, breaking and knocking down household objects in a man’s home during an argument, police said.

Southwest Mercer County Regional

• Police are asking that residents of Shenango Township call 911 if they see or hear anything suspicious following five reports of mailboxes being destroyed.

Police said the latest reports were called in at 2 a.m. Monday in the 100 block of Oak Hill Road, and two pickups were seen in the area at the time.

• Various pieces of scrap metal, including an old, green military trailer were stolen from the 100 block of Wansack Road, Shenango Township, said police, who were notified at 9:09 a.m. Monday.

• Thomas A. Pierce III, 22, of 200 Moss Ave., Farrell, was arrested at 4:53 p.m. Monday in the 900 block alley between Hamilton and Emerson avenues on charges of possession and possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

State police

• A Mercer man reported that a flatbed trailer loaded with 40-foot steel beams was stolen between March 30 and Monday from a parking lot in the 5700 block of state Route 8, Barkeyville, police said. The total value of the items stolen was $27,000, police said.



West Salem Township

• Steven Paul Trepasso, 24, of Sharon; at 9 a.m. April 5 on Orangeville Road and South Wood Street in Greenville, police said.

Hempfield Township

• Heidi L. Winterberger, 27, of 569 E. Crestview Drive, Transfer; at 7:32 p.m. Saturday after her vehicle hit another as she was pulling into a spot in the parking lot of Wal-Mart, 45 Williamson Road, police said.
