West Salem Township

• Nathaniel C. Hart, 36, of Greenville was charged July 5 with theft and identity theft for stealing a woman’s credit card and using it, police said Friday.

Grove City

• Police on Monday reported two recent incidents of vandalism:

A thin white male about 6 feet tall was seen spray painting the alley wall of Joden’s Jewelry Store and a padlock was reported cut off a storage unit between Friday and Sunday, although nothing was missing.

Anyone with information is asled to call the police.


• Police are looking for two men who held up a couple as they were walking at about 1:30 a.m. Monday in the 200 block of Florence Street.

The victims told police two young black men with T-shirts over their faces threatened them with guns that appeared to have laser sights and demanded money which they didn’t have.

The robbers took keys and a cell phone from the victims, shoved them both to the street and ran east on Florence.

One robber was wearing blue denim shorts and a gray tank top.

Police did not have a clothing description for the other man.

• Someone stole a television in a burglary reported at 7:30 a.m. Sunday in the 800 block of South Oakland Avenue.

The thief apparently entered through an unlocked window and stole a Coby 35-inch flat-screen TV, valued at $300, from a bedroom, police said.

• Ryan Michael Kuchmak, 19, of 381 Morton St., Sharon, faces sexual assault charges after his arrest at about 10:45 p.m. Friday, police said.

Police say Kuchmak improperly touched a 4-year-old girl in an apartment in the 300 block of East Connelly Boulevard.

Kuchmak, who was taken to Mercer County Jail after failing to post bond, was charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, aggravated i\ndecent assault of a child and corruption of minors.

• Someone entered a residence in the 200 block of Orchard Street through an unlocked window and stole a Sylvania flat-screen television, valued at $250, police said.

The theft occurred between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Friday.

• When police arrived at about 8:10 p.m. Thursday7/18 to make a warrant arrest nearby, neighbors told them a man was hitting a woman in the back yard of 169 Fourth Ave.

Police said a witness told them William J. Madden Jr., 35, had punched a woman in the face and hit her with an unopened can of beer.

Madden was charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. The woman was treated by an ambulance crew for a cut lip, police said.


• Elizabeth A. Laskowitz, 43, of 4 S. 12th St., Sharps-ville, was charged at 6:44 p.m. Saturday with forgery and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said, adding she forged a $200 check to pay for a drug habit and handed over four crack pipes.

State police

• Someone stole a phone from a car Wednesday in Pine Grove Trailer Court, Coolspring Township, police said.

• Someone damaged a mobile home door between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Thursday at 374 N. Perry Highway, Coolspring Township, police said.

• The Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement on Wednesday charged Nonni’s Corner Trattoria, 249 S. Broad St., Grove City, for refilling liquor bottles from May 21, 2012, through May 20, 2013, police said.

The owner faces fines up to a $5,000.
