Police, Fire for May 18, 2013

---- — Greenville-West Salem Township

• A Lebanon Avenue, Greenville, residence was burglarized May 11 and a Sony PS3 game console and controllers were stolen, said police who were called at about 3:30 p.m.

Grove City

•Money was stolen between May 8 and 11 from a student’s dormitory room at Grove City College, police said.

New Wilmington

•Matthew V. Wagner, 22, of Pittsburgh, has been charged with aggravated and simple assault, reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct and harassment for shoving a fellow Westminster College student and punching another, breaking his jaw, at 1:30 a.m. May 5 in the Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity house, police said.

Baldwin police arrested Wagner Wednesday on New Wilmington’s warrant, police said.

Sharon

•Terrica Gregory, 35, of 1435 Bolde Drive, Hermitage, faces a felony theft charge for stealing jewelry and silverware valued at $20,000 from a house she was hired to clean in the 600 block of Carley Avenue, police said.

Gregory, who was employed by a cleaning service, sold some of the goods to local metals buyers in the Shenango Valley, police said. She turned herself in at about 1:25 p.m Thursday at District Justice Dennis Songer’s office and posted bond.

•Someone opened the clasp of a collar and stole a 3-year-old Siberian husky that had been tied in the backyard of a home in the 400 block of South Irvine Avenue, police said.

The male dog with one blue eye and one brown eye was stolen overnight between Sunday and Monday, police said.

•A 2008 Suzuki with a plow and a winch, valued at $8,000, was stolen overnight between Sunday and Monday from a home in the 500 block of Wilson Street, police said.

The thief also stole a red lawnmower valued at $150 from the garage where the ATV had been stored, police said.

State police

•Katelyn H. Hughes, 20, and Brian A. Sherrouse, 29, both of Mercer, each have been charged with simple assault for fighting during a domestic dispute at 9 a.m. Wednesday at a home on Leesburg Station Road, Springfield Township, police said. Hughes also was charged with harassment and underage drinking.

•Courtney A. Redmond, 31, of Hermitage, was treated at Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township, after a car rear-ended hers at 4:35 p.m. Thursday on the southbound off ramp of Interstate 79 at state Route 208, Springfield Township, police said.

Jeffrey A. Barkley, 52, of Zelienople, the driver of the other car, was cited, police said.

WARRANT ARREST

Sharon

•Johnny Root, 38, of 524 Spruce Ave.; at about 9 p.m. Thursday on a Trumbull County warrant for breaking and entering and a local court warrant for failure to pay; charged as a fugitive and taken to Mercer County Jail to await extradition to Trumbull County.
