Police, Fire from Aug. 13, 2013

• An unattended candle started a minor fire at about 3:30 p.m. Monday at 703 Fisher Hill, firefighters said.

There was smoke and water damage to the enclosed back porch. No one was hurt and there was minimal damage to the house owned by Judy Fustos, firefighters said.

Southwest Mercer County Regional

• Several yards of homes on Oak Tree Court and two holes of neighboring Oak Tree Country Club, all Shenango Township, were damaged, said police, who received the report at 7:27 a.m. Saturday. A golf cart was driven through two fences around a home, police said.

• Yard lights were stolen from a home in the 1700 block of Sandy Drive, Farrell, said police, who received the report at 5:58 p.m. Saturday, police said.

State police

• Dustin Kress, 36, of Fredonia, was cited for careless driving after a crash at about 1:35 p.m. Saturday on Perry Highway in Coolspring Township.

Kress, who had minor injuries, drove his car into the rear of another northbound car that had stopped to turn left onto Magner Road, police said.

Paul A. Jordan, 48, and passengers, Joyce A. Jordan, 53, and Margaret L. Jordan, 13, all of Bedford Pa., and Dove A. Reeher, 12, of Fredonia, all were wearing seatbelts and suffered minor injuries, police said.

• Brooks Robinson, 21, of Ellwood City, and Lee D. Hassel, 24, of Bernville, Pa., each were charged with burglary, criminal trespass, theft and conspiracy to commit burglary and theft for stealing two brass carousel animals, a horse and a camel, worth $7,500 between June 25 and July 5 from Sundance Arena, 310 Fredonia Road, Delaware Township, and selling them for scrap in Lawrence County for $680, police said.

• Clarence D. Bailey, 41, of 56 Wengler Ave., Sharon; at 3:59 p.m. Saturday at Roemer Boulevard and Shenango Boulevard, Farrell, on two warrants for failure to pay and one for failure to appear.
