- — Greenville-West Salem Township

• Joseph M. Pomponio, 25, of Greenville, has been charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment for a domestic incident at 12:45 a.m. March 22 at a home on North Third Street, Greenville, police said.


• Carol J. Demaria, 59, of 460 S. Otter St., Mercer, has been charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia for items found in her home at 8:34 p.m. March 23 when she called police and asked them to remove a woman who had been staying with her, police said.

Mercer County sheriff

• Allison R. Miller, 28, of 829 Alma Ave., Hermitage, has been charged with contraband for smuggling 20 to 30 pills of Neurontin, a prescription drug used to treat seizures and pain, into Mercer County Jail, police said. She was jailed after a judge revoked her bond.


• Lamar L. Wilder, 34, of 640 Prindle St., Apartment 1, was charged with assault after attacking a woman at about 11 p.m. last Thursday,  police said.

The victim was at a friend’s house at 804 Spearman Ave., where Wilder choked and punched her, said police, who have a warrant for his arrest.

The victim was taken for hospital treatment by her mother.

Southwest Mercer County Regional

• Devon A. Williams, 23, of 919 Hamilton Ave., Farrell, has been charged with simple assault for hitting and biting a woman just before midnight Monday at home, police said.

• Jaron D. West, 25, of 302 Fruit Ave., Farrell, was charged with driving a vehicle with altered plates and without a registration card following a probe of a suspicious vehicle at 4:22 a.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of Hamilton Avenue, Farrell, police said.

State police

• Someone used personal identification information of a Lake Township woman to file a fraudulent tax return.

Charity K. Boughner, 31, of 9 Canon Road, reported the identity theft March 25, police said.

• Kirby A. Kirby, 30, of 193 Mill St., Fredonia, has been charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver for having four plants in his home when police investigated a report of gun shots and screaming in the area of his home March 21, police said.

• Kenneth L. Book III, 35, of 119 Bend Road, Wilmington Township, has been charged with making false reports for calling Mercer County 911 March 31 and reporting that a woman had fired a 9 mm gun at his home, police said. Police found no one home and later got a call from Book, saying no gun had been involved and he just wanted the woman to leave, police said.

• Freddy A. Ortiz, 42, of Pontiac, Mich., has been charged with trademark counterfeiting for having counterfeit Michael Kors watches and purses and Uggs boots in his vehicle when he was pulled over for a piece of metal dangling under his gas tank at 10:40 a.m. March 26 on Interstate 80 westbound, East Lackawannock Township, police said. Ortiz said he bought the items for $3,000 in Brooklyn, N.Y., and that he planned to take them home and sell them for twice the cost, police said.

• William T. Stanton, 49, of 126 Zahniser Road, Jefferson Township; at 2:05 a.m. March 8 on in the 7400 block of West Market Street, Lackawannock Township, where he was found stopped in the roadway; also charged with failing to maintain minimum speed and careless driving.
