• The American Red Cross said Sunday it is helping a family displaced by a Saturday night fire in Sharon.
Heavy flames were showing from a second story bedroom window of the wood-and-brick home at 994 Stambaugh Ave., fire officials said.
The home was owned by Dhanimatie Seeram, who wasn’t home at the time.
An 18-year-old woman who lived there was the only one in town, but she was getting fast food when the fire broke out.
Fire officials said it didn’t appear to be suspicious, but that a state police fire marshal would investigate the cause today.
A Red Cross spokeswoman said the agency was assisting the family.
Farrell firefighters assisted.
