The Rev. Dennis G. Dalessandro, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Dalessandro of French Street Extension, Sharon, on April 9 celebrated 25 years in the priesthood.
Rev. Dalessandro, who was first ordained to the diaconate and four months later, on April 9, 1983, ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Harrisburg, serves St. Andrew Church in Waynesboro, Pa.
He is the eldest of three children and attended Catholic grade school and Kennedy Catholic High School in Hermitage. He earned a bachelor’s degree from LaSalle University in Philadelphia.
Rev. Dalessandro was a teacher for two years at Bishop McDevitt High School in Harrisburg and attended Mount St. Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg for five years.
Before accepting his current assignment, he served churches primarily in the Harrisburg area, as well as at a high school, medical center and living manor.
Rev. Dalessandro is a member of Confraternity of Catholic Clergy.
He has served since Nov. 25, 2007, at St. Andrew rectory with his three dogs.
