Holy Trinity Lutheran plans polka service
HERMITAGE — A polka worship service in memory of John Krizanscic is planned for 9:30 a.m. Sunday in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 3325 Morefield Road. Holy Communion will be served and available to all baptized Christians.
Unity Presbyterian having praise, worship service
LACKAWANNOCK TOWNSHIP — A service of praise and worship led by the music group “... and Friends” is set for 11 a.m. Sunday in Unity Presbyterian Church at Greenfield, 1857 Mercer-West Middlesex Road. Patriotic songs will be included.
Members of the host church are members of the group. Jane Bartholomew plays piano; Sharon Burns, keyboard; and Bill Simon, harmonica. St. Paul’s UCC to preach letter of James
HERMITAGE — In honor of the 500th birthday of Protestant Reformer John Calvin, St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 159 Todd Ave., will follow Calvin’s example and preach from cover to cover through a book of the Bible this summer.
“How to Really Trust in God” is a practical look at what it means to be a Christian, based on the New Testament letter of James. The first sermon in the series will be Sunday. A luncheon will follow.
Community Baptist sets musical benefit program
FARRELL — A musical benefit is planned for 4 p.m. Sunday in Community Missionary Baptist Church, 1013 Emerson Ave. Men of Judah male chorus of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Sharon will be featured. Hezekiah King, 5, of Pentecostal House of Prayer in Farrell, also will sing and Minister Aaron Griffin of Youngstown will be a guest. Proceeds will benefit the host church’s building fund.
Sonshiners Quartet slated at Church of God
TRANSFER — Sonshiners Quartet will give a concert at 6:30 p.m. July 11 in Church of God, 1013 Rutledge Road.
