Rev. Woodson to speak at Word of Life
GREENVILLE — Rev. Woody Woodson will speak at 7 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. Aug. 24 at Word of Life Christian Center, 127 Wasser Road, Hempfield Township.
Rev. Woodson travels extensively across the nation preaching God’s word. His diverse background and unique ministry has enabled him to cross denominational and other barriers.
Rev. Woodson was an instructor for eight years at Victory Bible Institute in Tulsa, Okla., and for two years at Trinity Bible Institute in St. Louis, Mo. He has ministered with many well-known speakers, including Billy Jo Daugherty, Oral Roberts, Morrio Mucrillo, Jesse Duplantis, Tommy Barnett and others. He wrote “Face to Face Faith” and distributes several thousand audio and videotapes of his sermons each year.
Dress is casual.
Dr. Piper to speak at Valley Baptist
FARRELL — Dr. Annette Scott Piper will speak at Valley Baptist Church, 500 Sharon-New Castle Road, Farrell, at 11 a.m. Aug. 24.
Dr. Piper is a Pittsburgh native. She grew up in the Hill District and attended Pittsburgh schools. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Cheyney University, a master’s degree from Temple University and a doctorate of education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Piper has worked in education for more than 35 years, 17 years as an elementary principal for Pittsburgh School District. She is the principal of Pittsburgh Morrow PreK-5 Elementary School.
A member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, she teaches adult Sunday school and is a faithful member of the Wednesday night Bible study.
She is aware of her responsibility of serving as a Christian role model.
She is married to the Rev. Alec K. Piper and is the mother of three daughters and three stepdaughters and has two grandchildren.
