Central Christian Church ready for ‘Island Fun’
HERMITAGE — Well-known trumpeter Tom Hunt, a member of West Middlesex Presbyterian Church, will be the main event for “Island Fun” musical outreach to the public at 6 p.m. Sept. 6 in Central Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 218 Meadowbrook Road.
The program will include tiki torches and a festive tropical tent, with food and fellowship. Door prizes, Chinese auction and a raffle are also planned.
“Soul Repair” quartet will also be presenting special secular and sacred music. Appetizers begin at 6 p.m.; and dinner, 7 p.m. Tickets are $12.50 per person. Reservations are needed by Saturday. Tickets or info: 724-347-1703.
Covenant Presbyterian announces time changes
SHARON — Covenant Presbyterian Church, 263 E. State St., has changed its Sunday service times.
Sunday school for all ages will be at 9 a.m.; coffee and doughnut time, 10 a.m.; and worship, 10:30 a.m.

First Baptist celebrating Missionary Sunday
FARRELL — Missionary Sunday will be observed at 11 a.m. Sunday in First Baptist Church, 1120 Darr Ave. “Carrying Out the Mission that the Lord God Gave You” will be the topic.
Tammy Hines of Warren, Ohio, will speak. The Trumbull County employee and alumna of Warren G. Harding High School is a member of Believers Christian Church. She helps with a summer outreach program at Niles (Ohio) Christian Assembly.
She and her husband work with young adult addicts who are going into a rehabilitation center or have just returned from one.
Their mission is based on Psalm 72:12, “For he will deliver the needy who cry out, the afflicted who have no one to help.”
