Ruth AME Zion marking annual Men’s Day
SHARON — The annual Men’s Day Celebration, which began Wednesday, continues this weekend in Ruth African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, 95 Connelly Blvd.
The Rev. Donald Campbell of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Sharon, will speak at 7 p.m. today; and Brother Brian Pleasant of Cedar Avenue Church of God, Sharon, at 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Men’s Day worship service is set for 11 a.m. Sunday with Elder Dwayne Evans, assistant pastor of Ebenezer Life Center Church of God in Christ, Youngstown, as speaker.
SV Seventh-day Adventist slates program, dinner
WEST MIDDLESEX — The sabbath school youth group at Shenango Valley Seventh-day Adventist Church will present a musical program at 11 a.m. Saturday in the church, 1001 Wheatland Road.
The group of 4- through 7-year-olds, directed by Vonda Mecozzi, will be accompanied by John Kolessar on guitar.
The annual Thanksgiving meal in the Fellowship Hall will follow the service. The completely vegetarian meal was organized by Lori Weston and Mimi Prada.
Cedar Avenue COG announces events
SHARON — Super Seniors Fellowship is set for noon Saturday in Cedar Avenue Church of God, 1045 Cedar Ave.
On Sunday, a spaghetti dinner is slated for 2 p.m., with a $10 donation requested to benefit the church’s Youth Fellowship Group to attend the National Inspirational Youth Convention Dec. 27 through 30 in Columbus, Ohio.
Notre Dame having Masses in school
HERMITAGE — Church of Notre Dame will have Masses at 5:30 p.m. Saturday and 8 and 10 a.m. and noon Sunday in the gymnasium of Notre Dame School, 2335 Highland Road, Hermitage. The church is undergoing a facelift, including new carpet and pews.
Locals part of ordination of prelate bishop
YOUNGSTOWN — The title of prelate bishop will be conferred upon the Rev. Lillie North at 6 p.m. Saturday in New Bethel Baptist Church, 1507 Hillman Ave., Youngstown.
She is founder and pastor of Friends House Chapel and was among founders in 1980 of Interdenominational Clergywomen’s Alliance Inc., for which she is executive president. Farrell in March became its most recent affiliate.
